I sometimes take it for granted, but first and foremost we are Chartered Accountants – that is what underlies our Expert Witness work on Loss Quantum and related financial matters surrounding disputes and litigation.

So, whilst Formby Forensics provides forensic accountancy advice and opinion reports – that work is backed up with over 30 years of specialist forensic and accountancy experience.

Our professional accountancy, taxation and financial advice work is underpinned by our membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW).

As members of the ICAEW, we are:

  • Regularly inspected to ensure that we are meeting the appropriate level of professional standards;
  • Required to undertake extensive Continuing Professional Development – to keep up to date on all relevant technical matters;
  • Required to comply with a high standard of professional ethics;
  • Required to work within regulatory standards.

In addition to our membership of the ICAEW, for over 25 years I have personally been a practicing member of the Academy of Experts.

Through that membership, I have undertaken extensive training to acting as an Expert Witness or Adviser and in the relevant aspects of the Civil and Criminal Procedure Rules and Guidance.  In addition, I have undertaken training to support mediation, expert determination and other forms of ADR.

Finally, we do not just provide forensic services.

We also provide general accountancy, taxation advice, financial consultancy, financial planning, Fractional CFO services and business advisory via our separate trading division, Below The Line Finance which is run by Harriet Formby MA ACA.

When we provide advice and opinions on matters such as Loss of Profits, Earnings, Pensions, or Benefits, conduct thorough Financial Investigations, meticulously craft Valuations, or delve into Warranty and Indemnity claims, as well as the Financial Aspects of Disputes, what we bring to the forefront is nothing short of the “Complete Professional Package.”
